Dinner Dance Fasching

Dinner Dance Fasching

Saturday, February 22, 2020
5:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Fasching is a pre-Lenten celebration for Christians, similar to Mardi Gras. It is a time for eating a lot of food, dressing up in fun costumes and merriment before the solemn days of Lent. It’s roots are traced to Pagan times when carnivals were held with townspeople wearing elaborate and frightening wood masks to drive out evil spirits. In medieval times common folks wore masks so they could interact with people from higher stations in life. At the Liederkranz Club we like to include children and adults of all ages. Dress up in your favorite costumes and take part in our costume contest.  Public welcome.

Costume contest, prizes, free gift bag for kids, live music, dancing, delicious food and drinks.
