They say it’s the most wonderful time of the year and I have to agree. It’s the season when Lansing families head to cut their own Christmas tree, visit live nativity scenes, gather together for tree lighting festivities and Christmas events, and get out into the city more than any other time of year.
During this festive time, our communities feel alive, the air is crisp, and the time with family amidst the quietly falling snow reminds us what holiday season is all about.
For many, it’s about time with our families. For this reason, we’ve made a list of great family-friendly ways to spend quality time with your loved ones this holiday season in Lansing Michigan.

Where to Find Live Nativity Scenes
A fond memory from my childhood is going to a live nativity scene. I often think on that moment with warm and fuzzy feelings.
A few years ago I agreed to be in a live nativity scene. My youngest son played baby Jesus and my eldest a little lamb. I felt a bit silly at first but in the end it was so much fun and worth it. Their faces lit up as we re-told the beautiful story.
If you haven’t gone to one yet, take my word for it, you’ll enjoy it. The live nativity could be an experience your kiddos will remember for a lifetime.
