Holiday Lights: Neighborhoods, Displays, Drive Thrus + Tree Lightings and Events Happening Around Lansing 2020

Lansing Area Holiday Light Shows + Tree Lighting and Events 2020

The Holiday spirit is palpable as many have already set up their trees, started decorating, and planning creative ways to celebrate in 2020. It doesn’t surprise me that Lansing is finding ways to spread love and cheer because we are such a resilient community!

We’ve all been wondering though, will there still be some portions of Holiday celebration normalcy we’ll be able to experience?

Turns out, it’s a big Holiday cheerful – YES!

There are holiday light displays, neighborhoods and houses you won’t want to miss, holiday events, Santa Pictures and visits, tree farm holiday fun, and even a few tree lighting ceremonies.

So, “grab your coat and get your hat, leave your worries on the doorstep, just direct your feet” to the Holiday vibes in the Lansing area streets!

One of the most socially distanced, yet immersed holiday-feeling adventures you can do right now is going to an outdoor holiday light show.

Lansing doesn’t disappoint in this and although so much has changed this year, one thing can be sure, you’ll be able to grab a hot bevy and get out with your family to enjoy some holiday light display cheer together!

» Lansing

Westside Neighborhood
Just west MLK and the Justice Building.

Moores Neighborhood
Start on Moores river drive and zigzag your way through the beauty. As you start, there’s a big Santa waving from a three seasons room you can’t miss!

Groesbeck Neighborhood
This neighborhood is lovely. Houses are decked out including a dreidel on one of my friend’s lawns that just makes you want to smile!

Frances Park and surrounding area.
Make your way across MLK toward Frances Park. This neighborhood is beautiful. Try the other side of the river as well or at least don’t forget to look at the riverfront homes.

Mar Moor Neighborhood
Located in Waverly between Waverly road and Willow Hyw. Start on Mar moor and let it lead you through a winding light-delight.

Old Everette Neighborhood
We love how these beautiful older homes light up the night.

Walmar Estates
This one is a sight to see every year.

Granger Waste Service
16980 Wood Rd, Lansing, MI 48906
Granger has decorated their facility and it’s beautiful! If you’re around Eastwood it’s just a hop over to wood street and worth the drive through their parking lot.

Old Town Lansing
The light poles along are a lovely sight at night but bonus, the stores are all decked out as well.

Downtown Lansing
Shops have decorated for the season. That combined with the big tree and annual large ornaments at the Michigan Ave/Washington roundabout loop make this a great drive-thru.

Holt has some stunning lights at these locations:
5202 Runnymede Drive
There’s a movie/light show and runs for about a 30-minute loop, tune into 90.3.

Tune into 91.3
